my story
I served as a CSO/CISO for six different organizations over a two-decade period and I mentor over 120 cyber professionals (40 CISOs). I served on the boards of the FS-ISAC and the Health-ISAC. I advise 20 cyber companies and I teach cybersecurity at NYU Tandon School of Engineering
I was called into a meeting with the CIO in 2003, "congratulations...you're the first CISO for American Express." A colleague handed me a phone number and advised me to call Steve Katz, the first CISO ever. That led me on a multi-decade journey as a CSO/CISO in financial services and healthcare, with Steve as one of my mentors. There're so many cybersecurity leaders that shared information with me through the years to help me succeed. Cyber luminaries like Ed Amoroso, Phil Venables and Gary McGraw gave their precious time to help me understand what represents best practices for cyber resilience. It's now my turn to pay it forward for you and share resources to help you succeed. Jimmer Advisory exists to help leaders make better decisions in the face of cyber risk, AI disruption, identity complexity, third-party exposure, and organizational change.
